71 PMI da 22 paesi sono state selezionate per i finanziamenti nell’ultimo round dello SME Instrument Phase 2 del Programma Horizon 2020. Ciascun progetto riceverà fino a 2,5 milioni (5 per gli health projects) per finanziare le attività di innovazione. L’ammontare totale che sarà distribuito tra le PMI che lavorano sui 66 progetti selezionati è di 103.82 milioni di euro.
Le PMI spagnole hanno avuto maggior successo con 19 imprese selezionate. Queste sono seguite da 5 PMI da Germania ed Irlanda. La maggior parte dei progetti ricadono nell’ambito dei trasporti e delle ICT (10 progetti ciascuno) seguiti da 9 progetti nel campo dei low-carbon and energy efficient systems.
La Commissione Europea ha ricevuto 1534 proposte entro la cut-off date del 18/01/2017, la prima per la Fase 2 nel 2017. Dal lancio del Programma Horizon 2020, il 1° gennaio 2014, 641 PMI sono state selezionate per i finanziamenti nell’ambito della Fase 2. Il finanziamento in questa fase dello strumento permette alle aziende di investire in attività di innovazione, come dimostrazione, testing, piloting, scaling up e miniaturizzazione, oltre allo sviluppo di un business plan maturo per il proprio prodotto. Le aziende potranno inoltre beneficiare di 12 giorni di business coaching. La prossima cut-off date è fissata al 06/04/2017, per tutti i topics dello Sme Instrument fase 2:

- SMEInst-08-2016-2017 Supporting SMEs efforts for the development – deployment and market replication of innovative solutions for blue growth;
- SMEInst-09-2016-2017 Stimulating the innovation potential of SMEs for a low carbon and efficient energy system;
- SMEInst-10-2016-2017 Small business innovation research for Transport and Smart Cities Mobility;
- SMEInst-11-2016-2017 Boosting the potential of small businesses in the areas of climate action, environment, resource efficiency and raw materials;
- SMEInst-12-2016-2017 New business models for inclusive, innovative and reflective societies;
- SMEInst-13-2016-2017 Engaging SMEs in security research and development.
